Food Allergies
Most conventional testing for food allergies looks at an IgE, or immediate, response to foods. They, however, do not look at IgG food sensitivities that have a delayed onset. This means, that after you eat a certain food, it can take from days to weeks to develop symptoms. Food sensitivities can affect your long-term health and ultimately lead to chronic health issues if not discovered. Each person may exhibit symptoms far different from another individual with the same food sensitivity. A sample of symptoms associated with food sensitivities include:- Sinus congestion, postnasal drip, asthma
- Chronic ear infections
- Skin conditions such as eczema
- GI issues such as gas, bloating, diarrhea
Comprehensive Stool Analysis
Over 80% of our immune system is located in our gut. Therefore, optimizing gut function plays a key role in supporting overall health. The intestinal tract contains significant amounts of bacteria which, when imbalanced, have been associated with IBS and IBD, immune disorders, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Balancing gut microflora is key for optimizing digestion and absorption of nutrients, as well as metabolic functions. Poor digestion and malabsorptin can lead to immune dysfunction, nutritional insufficiencies, mental/emotional disorders, and autoimmune diseases.Nutritional Assessment
Identifying nutritional deficiencies can be essential for the prevention and management of chronic disease. This panel looks at nutrient status of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants through lymphocytes, or white blood cells, setting it apart from standard serum testing.Neurotransmitter Testing
The human nervous system contains very important chemical messengers called neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are key players in your thought processes, emotions (moods), and other essential body functions including sleep, energy, and fear. Our nervous system needs to function properly in order for you to remain healthy. Unfortunately, the nervous system can be easily disrupted through a number of factors:- Stress
- Poor diet
- Toxic chemicals
- Infections
- Genetics
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Fatigue
- Behavioral problems (including ADD/ADHD)
Adrenal Testing
This test assesses the functioning of the body’s adrenal glands. The adrenals modulate our stress response and in doing so, produce a variety of hormones such as cortisol. Cortisol is released in varying amounts during a 24-hour time period, following a circadian rhythm. Four samples of saliva are collected from morning to night to determine if an abnormal adrenal rhythm is present. Ultimately, this helps determine the effects of stress on your adrenals and overall health. Symptoms of adrenal imbalance include:- Morning and/or evening fatigue
- Increased susceptibility to infection
- Insomnia
- PMS and hormonal imbalance
- Poor recovery from exercise
- Chemical sensitivity
- Depressed mood
- Allergies
- Unstable blood sugar
- Low sex drive
- Weight gain (especially belly fat)
- “Burned out” feeling
